Any of the Kimberling City Resorts will usually be within a 30 minute drive of the Branson Strip and a 15-20 minute drive to Silver Dollar City. If you want to center your vacation on lake activities or fishing and camping Kimberling City Resorts is a great area that still provides easy and quick access to the Branson activities. In case you want to know………………………………………… In the 19th century along the Wilderness Road between Springfield, MO and Berryville, AR lay the Radical Campground where as many as 200 wagons would camp waiting for the flood waters of the White River to subside so they could cross on the ferry. In 1927 with the increase in auto traffic a bridge was built to replace the ferry. When the White river was dammed forming Table Rock Lake the present bridge was built across the lake. In 1959, John Q. Hammons, who owned land in what is now Kimberling City, registered the name with the state and built a Holiday Inn and the tourist and fisherman came. The section of the Wilderness Road, the ferries and the old White River Bridge lay beneath the present day Kimberling City Bridge.
